So a lot of people have weighed in on Day 1 discussion of "How much production is to much." I have posted several of the comments. The comments reflect that most of us are saying the same thing, we are just saying it in a different way. And I think that is the beauty of the Church. We all will do things differently and uniquely according to how God has wired us and the unique call and vision He has placed on our Churches to reach different people groups. The point is to reach people and as long as we keep that the driving force behind our creativity than I say GO FOR IT- or DON'T. Just reach people. There is not a one size fit's all method.
Day 2 Discussion: Have you heard about anything that "another" church besides yours is doing for Christmas that you think will be effective to reach people. I have. Check this out from the Flamingo Road's Crew:

Hey man! Thanks for hanging w/ our motley crew a couple wks ago. I know my better whole had a great time just chillin' & listenin to you guys. And another thanks for the Gift Revolution mention. It means a lot. Grateful, H. Palacios

well this isn't tied to reaching out directly but rather reaching the congregation and helping them to be in the right mind and remember the true meaning of Christmas --> which will then hopefully push them to share the love from the inside out.
my old church willow creek in barrington il, which i SORELY miss, has a new site which i think helps keep christmas in the proper context with the billion distractions that come with the holidays, gifts, lights, partys, etc etc.

i truly think you need a long time period because in this day and age when someone can get trampled due to consumerism we need God more than ever & be thankful more than ever.
