Simply Christmas

Tomorrow marks the push to get "ready" for Christmas and if you follow this blog very much you know that I don't post every day of the week.  It's a priority thing- what can I say.  However, starting tomorrow I am going to begin to post everyday up to Christmas.  My hope is not to be just another talking head out here in blog land, but to instead create some conversation around how to creatively and simply tell the Christmas story.  Let's talk tomorrow...

"Be still and know that I am God."

Ever read this verse in context?  This verse is written in the same passage with phrases like:

• "though the earth give way and the mountains fall.."

•  "Nations are in an uproar, kingdoms fall."

In the middle of chaos God calls us to be still.  As of late times have been incredibly crazy in my life.  How do I know this?  My wife tells me.  That's how crazy my life has been.  I have been so much on the go that I don't even see it- my wife has to tell me. 

    Wife:   "How was your day?"
    Me:      "My day was crazy, but good."
    Wife:   "You do realize that has become your standard answer the past year?"
    Me:      silence...... "What's for dinner?"

Tonight God reminds me to be still. 

(Thank you Father for being my refuge and strength.  You are my Strong Arm.  You are forever faithful.)

7 Days Of Sex

So if you haven't heard yet, our Pastor has challenged our Church to a 7 Day Sex Challenge.  The challenge is for married couples to connect and commit to having sex for 7 days straight.  It's been crazy to see the media buzz this challenge has caused.  I think it is a bit ironic that when the Church talks about sex the world is shocked.  God invented sex.  In Ed's words, "God made IT so we can make IT." 

Right now I am watching Ed on Good Morning America.  Incredible!

Last Night...

Early morning post.  Just dropped Carlos and his wife off at the airport.  He came and worshiped with us  last night at the Closer To The Start DVD recording.  Thanks for coming out Carlos and Heather!

Last night blew my mind.  The Church amazes me every time.  I wished you could have heard how loud the audience was as they worshiped Jesus.  We put God's work in our lives and in the world on display light night!  From top to bottom last night was the greatest energy filled night I have ever experienced in the 10 years I have been here at Fellowship Church.  Ed spoke about the call of the Church and the vision God has given our church.  God's presence was STRONG.

I have so much more to say about last night and so much more to show you.  Pics and videos to come today, so check back!  I gotta get some coffee.
